This here's the story of the day;
I learned to ride my bike a special way.
Instead of having four wheels now my bike had only two,
my training wheels were gone, what could I do?

My mom said I could do it I said NO!
I don't like this bike; I don't like this park I wanna go.
She said keep peddling, keep your eyes straight,
that's it you're doing great,
but it's what happened next I want you all to know.

I turned my head around and I fell down on the ground.
I got a big scrape on my knee, but my mom she said to me,
RYou're O.K., just try again, you can do it, I know you can."
But I just sat there and I didn't make a sound -

And as I sat there mad and quiet
thinkin' I don't want to try it and
boy I hate this bike,
why'd we even buy it?
A voice came up from deep inside;
it would not be denied it said
I CAN, I WILL, I'LL TRY

I CAN, I WILL, I'LL TRY -
If at first I don't succeed I will not cry.
If I keep muddlin' through, there ain't nothin' I can't do
I CAN, I WILL, I'LL TRY

Well what happened next really who can say?
I hopped back on my bike and said "Everyone outta my way!"
I started pedaling 'round and '€˜round
I kept my eyes up off the ground
and before I knew it my Mom was shoutin' YAY!

I rode that bike in circles round the park,
Rtill Mom said time to go it's getting' dark.
We'll come back another day
and I know that voice will say:
I CAN, I WILL, I'LL TRY

I CAN, I WILL, I'LL TRY -
If at first I don't succeed I will not cry.
If I keep muddlin' through, there ain't nothin' I can't do
I CAN, I WILL, I'LL TRY
